Demar Derozan Bulls Trade

DeRozan signs with Chicago Bulls in a three-team deal

DeRozan, Bulls agree to a three-year, $85 million deal; Kings receive Thaddeus Young

The Chicago Bulls have acquired six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan from the San Antonio Spurs in a three-team sign-and-trade deal, the Bulls announced Wednesday.

DeRozan will sign a three-year, $85 million deal with the Bulls, while the Spurs will receive Thaddeus Young and a future first-round pick from the Chicago. The Kings will receive a second-round pick from the Bulls.

DeRozan, 32, averaged 21.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game for the Spurs last season. He was named an All-Star for the sixth time in his career.

The Bulls are hoping that DeRozan can help them take the next step after winning 46 games and reaching the playoffs last season. DeRozan is a proven scorer and playmaker who can create his own shot and set up his teammates.

The Bulls also added Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso in free agency this summer. The trio of DeRozan, Ball and Caruso gives the Bulls a dynamic backcourt that should be able to score and defend at a high level.
